Vidyadhar Arole: I have participated in the Batch No. 4, from 30th December, 2011 to 8th January 2012 as a volunteer at Chilati in 100 day’s school. I was nominated for KU group. From this group there are 9 students – 7 girls and 2 boys. There are too young and may be away from their homes for the first time. But they were eager to learn new things.

I have tried to teach them Marathi and English alphabets, 1 to 10 numbers, recognize the number from the cards/pictures. Most of them can recite the tables, alphabets collectively, but individually they cannot recognize Marathi alphabets/ numbers. In this regards, I suggest that these alphabets/numbers are to be again and again write by them on slates.

The daily time table is very good and it helps to accept good habits to the students. I am sure about that many of these students will take admission in next academic year to the regular school. All the teachers i.e. Shri Ram, chandrakant, Ashok and Rajaram has given excellent cooperation and suggestions to us to perform our duties. The school have ample educational and sports material and the students are taking good advantage. They are like music, stories, play than mere study. My only suggestion is that Small towels/dry cloths are to be supplied to childrens to dry their body after bath. In such a remote place MAI Joshi and other local sisters have served very good food for lunch and dinner , break fast.

I wish such exercise of 100 days school will useful for the students to continue their education.
